With roots in Taft, California, where I was born on August 4, 1967, my journey has been one of service, community engagement, and law enforcement.

Education & Career Pathway

After graduating from North Mesquite High School in Texas in 1986, I dedicated myself to serving others as a full-time Church missionary in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in the early ’90s. My academic pursuits led me to Idaho State University, where I graduated in 1996.

Transitioning to the professional world, I spent a decade in the mortgage industry from 1997 to 2006. Entrepreneurship called my name, and I became the business owner and operator of Americana Home Inspections in 2006, extending services to Wasco County since 2012.

Law Enforcement Legacy

My law enforcement career began as a Reserve Officer in Gervais, Oregon, in 2010. Two years later, I became a full-time Wasco County Deputy, laying the foundation for my journey in policing. In 2021, I joined the Tigard Police Department, where my commitment to upholding the law continued.

Throughout my law enforcement career, I’ve earned both Basic and Advanced Law Enforcement Certificates. I’ve served passionately in the Patrol Division, as a Reserve Co-Coordinator, Union President and shared my expertise as a Defense Tactics Instructor and Field Training Officer with both the WCSO and Tigard Police Department.

Coaching & Athletic Involvement

My passion for athletics is evident through my tenure as a Graduate Assistant Basketball Coach at Ricks College/BYU Idaho from 1994 to 1996 and volunteering as a football and wrestling coach at both high school and middle school levels in The Dalles. My own athletic history includes being a high school varsity letterman and an all-star in the Irving Texas Semi-pro Baseball League.

Personal Life

Family is my cornerstone. My wife Celeste and I married on August 21, 1993, and are proud parents to eight children and a grandchild. Our life is full of the joy and hustle that a large, loving family brings.
