Ensuring Fairness and Transparency in Law Enforcement Leadership

In Wasco County, the role of Sheriff is not just a position; it’s a public trust. As a candidate dedicated to justice and community safety, I am committed to restoring and upholding the democratic principles that should guide our Sheriff’s Office.

Recent discussions have raised concerns about the current administration’s approach to succession planning. The practice of grooming specific successors and the ambiguity around completing elected terms do not align with the transparent and democratic processes our community deserves. When I run for Sheriff, I run to commit for the full term — because that’s what integrity looks like.

My approach focuses on clear and open communication. No backroom deals or predetermined succession plans that bypass the will of the people. Every leader in our Sheriff’s Office will earn their position through fair and open processes, reflecting true merit and community preference.

I promise to engage with the community transparently about our goals, challenges, and successes. By fostering an environment of mutual respect and cooperation, we ensure that the Sheriff’s Office not only responds to the community’s needs but also reflects its values.

I am running for Sheriff to serve the entirety of my term and beyond to ensure that any future transitions in office adhere strictly to democratic principles. Wasco County deserves no less.
